Note: After two years of implementation of the methodology developed in the project “Study of genetic methods for determining hybridization him partridge”, to some difficulties that users have told us about the way in which the Consortium interprets the results, and in order to facilitate the decision-making from the genetic results of a set of analyzed partridges, have found it necessary to make a small modification to express the interpretation of results.

Further information on the interpretation of the meaning of the categories that can be assigned the overall result

The program for the conservation of the genetic purity of the red-legged partridge in Spain available from 2010 a molecular tool to detect hybridization developed by laboratories FEDENCA-Red Partridge @ Genetics Consortium. We consider the large-scale application of this tool will provide an accurate Spanish knowledge, both wild, as captive maid. Also, consider that the use of very high pressures of no selection, to avoid problems in farm census implies reduced replacement rates 20-25 % Annual and, therefore , over a period of 4 years criteria, in our view, should be applied to rank campuses partridges (a holding, territory, game, etc.) susceptible of different actions or considerations would be the following:

  1. When a sufficient sample 1 the percentage of foreign alleles or hybridization rate is the 0% the assigned category will be to Absence Hybridization.
  2. When a sufficient sample in the percentage of foreign alleles or hybridization rate is than 0% and inferior to the second %, in case that the percentage of partridges with one or more alleles outsiders is less than or equal to 5 % the assigned category will be very Baja Hybridization, while if this percentage exceeded that level category will be assigned Baja Hybridization.
  3. When a sufficient sample in the percentage of foreign alleles is less than 2% and lower 5%, in case that the percentage of one or more partridges less foreign alleles o igual al 25% the assigned category will be the Baja Hybridization, while if that percentage level exceeds the assigned category will be the Media Hybridization.
  4. When a sufficient sample analyzed the percentage of alleles is less than 5% and lower 10%, in case that the percentage of one or more partridges foreign allele is inferior or more 50 % the assigned category will be the Media Hybridization, while if said percentage exceeds that level category will be assigned Hybridization High.
  5. When a sufficient sample analyzed the percentage of alleles is less than 10% the category will be assigned to: Hybridization High.

The category of Lack of Hybridisation could be susceptible, if you sue the manager or responsible for this population to receive a certificate of genetic quality.
